Breakthrough! Getting Family Law Clients to Collaborate / South CoastallLD Learning and DevelopmentFriday, 20 April 2012 from 09:00 to 16:30 (BST)Southampton, United Kingdom |

Event Details
You trained as a collaborative family lawyer or mediator and long to see more clients choosing ADR processes to resolve their family situations.
Almost every client states that they do not want to go to court, or get drawn into unhelpful arguments, and yet so many still do. What goes wrong along the way?
-
Learn how to inspire, not advise, your clients to choose, shape and define an ADR process for themselves.
-
Learn and practice techniques that will enable you to create those breakthrough moments for your clients and enable them to choose a better future for themselves and their families.
-
Learn how to identify and avoid the traps that guarantee your client will choose conventional litigation rather than ADR.
This one day course will give you the tools, techniques and, crucially, the passion to enable you and the families we serve to escape the destructive nature of conventional practice and work together better.
Start building the family ADR practice that you long for.
Neil Denny is a collaborative lawyer, author and international speaker and trainer. He is the author of “The Collaborative Law Companion” published by Jordans in March 2011. He is also the producer/presenter of the pioneering Collaborative Law and ADR podcast, available on iTunes and www.collaborativelaw.tv.
Neil is regularly asked to speak at conferences and in-house training events in the UK and overseas, including the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners forum.
In September 2011 he became the first UK practitioner to be asked to deliver a full day program at the IACP international forum, held last year in San Francisco.
This Breakthrough! workshop is the result of that request.
The comments below are taken from the delegates reports at the end of that program:
Excellent, wonderful

Fresh approach
Super program – beyond my expectations
Very engaging presenter, he is a great teacher
Kept the crowd focused for a daylong session
I appreciated his excitement as well as the material he covered
Great energy; open to rolling with what participants wanted to discuss
Engaging, interesting, thought provoking teacher with a dry sense of humor
Great, enthusiastic, focused
Would appreciate more concrete examples. Enjoyed the ones given
Fantastic presenter and great topic delivered in a fresh and challenging way
Neil is very motivating and enthusiastic. He acknowledges he doesn’t have all of the answers – he challenges me to broaden my creativity and to take risks to explore my own vulnerabilities
You have a great presence and are extremely interesting. The training is not particularly linear (contrary to my learning style) but compelling.
You are a fabulous speaker. Enjoyed it.
Neil’s attitude and energy is contagious – very thought provoking, helpful and supportive
Materials excellent
All questions of attendees answered; Neil did not shy away from the difficult questions
Kim Beatson, of Anthony Gold has this to say about the course;
I was energised by ‘Break through! Getting clients to collaborate’.
This workshop really helped me to understand what gets in the way of clients selecting this process with helpful tips on how to break through that barrier.
I cannot recommend it too highly.
